Michel Soumrani

Michel Soumrani studied law at Paris University and St Joseph University (Beirut). He holds two LL.Ms, one in private law, the other in public law; and an LL.D from Paris University for a thesis on the legal status of the banks in cessation of payments in Lebanon, which obtained the unique prize of the Institute of Comparative Law in Paris (“Le régime juridique des banques en état de cessation de paiements au Liban, éd. Antoine 1974, préface R. Rodière). He is the author of several legal studies in Lebanese and French specialized legal gazettes. Mr. Soumrani was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 1966. He has gained an extensive experience, mainly in banking and finance law, commercial law, arbitration, aviation law and administrative law. Apart from his professional activities, he is professor of international economic law at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of St Joseph University, and member of several committees, such as the Ministry of Justice Committee for the modernization of the Code of commerce, the Beirut Bar Association Ethics Committee and the High Council of Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Beirut.

Patrick Soumrani studied law at St Joseph University (Beirut). He obtained a Masters in private law in 1990 and an LL.M in private law in 1990. He pursued his studies at Paris II Assas University where he obtained an LL.D for a thesis on the fiduciary ownership of shares, which won the Albert Wahl prize (rewarding the best thesis in commercial and corporate law) and the prize of the Association of Corporate Legal Counsels of Paris and Ile de France (“Le portage d’actions”, éd. L.G.D.J. 1996, préface B. Oppetit). He has published several legal studies in Lebanese and French specialized legal gazettes. Mr. Soumrani was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 1993. He is specialized in banking and finance law, corporate law, commercial law and real estate law. He is also lecturer of Corporate and Business Law at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of St Joseph University, and former member of the Ministry of Justice Committee for the modernization of the Code of commerce.

 

Andre Yazbeck

Andre Yazbeck studied law at St Joseph University (Beirut). He obtained a Masters in private law in 1988 and an LL.M in private law in 1990. He was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 1994. Mr. Yazbeck is specialized in competition law, corporate law, commercial law and real estate law.

 

Sarita Kawerk

Sarita Kawerk studied law at St Joseph University (Beirut). She obtained a Masters in private law in 1988 and was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 1993. Ms. Kawerk is specialized in civil law, real estate law and labour law in which she has a wide experience covering individual conflicts, collective negotiation and litigations.

Aline Kawerk studied law at St Joseph University (Beirut). She obtained her Masters in private law in 1992 and was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 1999. Ms. Kawerk is specialized in civil law, labour law and enforcement proceedings.

 

Abdallah Maalouly

Abdallah Maalouly studied law at St Joseph University (Beirut) and obtained a Masters in 1970. He holds an LL.M in public law. He was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 1983. Mr. Maalouly has a wide experience in Administrative law, civil law and civil proceedings.

Aline Tanielian studied law at St Joseph University (Beirut) and obtained her Masters in 2001. She holds two LL.Ms, one in dispute resolutions from the Lebanese University (Francophone Branch), the other in banking and finance law from St Joseph University.

Rita Khoriaty Naffah

Rita Khoriaty Naffah studied law at St Joseph University (Beirut). She obtained a Masters in private law in 2005 and an LL.M in private law in 2007. She pursued her studies at Paris II Assas University where she obtained an LL.D for a thesis on the underlying principles of contract law (crossed views on French, Lebanese, European and international laws).
